In de geschutskoepel stonden twee kanonnen opgesteld. Zij hadden een kaliber (schietgat) van 15 cm. De koepel woog 200.000 kg en kon door zes man in zes minuten geheel worden rondgedraaid. De koepel is gemaakt door de firma Gruson uit Maagdenburg in Duitsland. De openingen in de wand van de toren lopen naar de magazijnen waar de munitie werd opgeslagen.
De ruimte in de toren is nu leeg maar er lagen destijds twee vloeren in. De uiteinden van de draagbalken van de vloeren zijn zichtbaar in de wand. Op de bovenste vloer stond een kaapstander met handspaken waarmee de koepel in de schotsrichting gedraaid kon worden.
In de tweede wereld oorlog werd de koepel door de Duitse bezetter in stukken gesneden en naar Duitsland getransporteerd.

The turret
There were two canons with a 15 cm caliber set up in the turret. The cupola weighed 200.000 kg and could be turned entirely in six minutes by six men. The cupola was made by the company Gruson from Maagdenburg, Germany. The openings in the wall of the tower run towards the ammunition storages. The space is now empty but it had two floors, the ends of the floors’ load bearing beams are still visible in the wall. On the upper floor stood a capstan with handspokes with which the cupola could be turned towards the shooting direction.
During the Second World War, the cupola was cut into pieces by the German occupation and transported to Germany.
